My vision is to perform the duties of Clerk of the Circuit Court with integrity, professionalism and efficiency to the highest ethical standards, in compliance with the laws and regulations of Maryland
Robbie Hanson is a life-long resident of Dorchester County, and the son of Elizabeth Abbott and the late Harold Hanson. Born and raised in Cambridge, he moved to Beach Haven and graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1971.
Robbie enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Southeast Asia. After his military service, he attended Salisbury University and graduated in 1977 with a BA in History and Sociology.
He earned a Master’s degree in Education in 1985. Robbie taught at both, North Dorchester and Cambridge South Dorchester High School, before accepting a job with the State of Maryland’s Parole and Probation.
He has been employed with the state for over 31 years and is now acting Assistant Regional Administrator for Regions I (Harford and Eastern Shore Counties).
He is married to Catherine Wright Hanson (Cathy) of Cambridge, and is a father of 4 – Shannon, (deceased), Meredith, Scott and Lucas. They are members of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cambridge.
Robbie is currently a City Commissioner for the 5th Ward of Cambridge where he received 89% of the total 5th Ward vote.
